Prayer times in Rawalpindi are calculated on this page using the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method with the Hanafi Asr method. This matches the Pakistan setting currently used on Prayer Times and aligns with common Rawalpindi namaz timetable listings that show the later Hanafi Asr time.
Rawalpindi is close to Islamabad, so the two cities often show similar prayer times, but this page uses Rawalpindi coordinates in Punjab rather than assuming the Islamabad timetable. Small differences can still matter near sunrise, sunset, and the start of Asr.
The Asr setting is the main reason Rawalpindi timetables may disagree. Hanafi Asr starts later than the Standard Asr method, while Fajr and Isha are controlled by the Karachi calculation angles. Local mosques may also publish their own congregation, Jumu'ah, Ramadan, and Eid schedules.
| Prayer | Guidance | Starts | Ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fajr | It is important to perform the prayer between true dawn and the beginning of sunrise. | ||
| Dhuhr | This time begins once the sun passes its zenith. It is generally recommended not to delay the prayer without need. | ||
| Asr | Try not to delay Asr without a valid reason until the sun begins to turn yellow and move close to sunset. | ||
| Maghrib | It is recommended to pray Maghrib soon after sunset and not to delay it without need. | ||
| Isha | The time of Isha begins after the evening twilight disappears. It is preferable to perform it before the middle of the night. |
| Prayer | Guidance | Starts | Ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tahajjud and Witr | For Tahajjud, the best time is the last third of the night; Witr is performed after Isha and before Fajr. | ||
| Duha Prayer | After the sun has risen above the horizon and before zenith; its best time is when the sun has risen higher and its heat has intensified. |
